The Integration of young adults with cognitive and developmental problems in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as volunteers is one of the innovative programs of the ICELP that has no equivalent in any country in the world. The opportunity to serve in the army where they are trained for a variety of logistical and service jobs has greatly enhanced the self-image and positively affected the character development of the youngsters. The IDF has now requested to extend the project to many more units in view of its positive effect on the army personnel of all ranks serving with the volunteers.
